Large Vintage Japanese Gold Imari Porcelain Ginger Jar it is decorated with a Hand Painted and Gold Outlined Prunus Tree with Prunus Blossoms executed in Underglaze Blue Cobalt Oxide Pigment and Overglaze Red Enamel on a White Ground. We believe the Ginger Jar was made in Arita by the Arita Bussan Company during the Late Showa Period between 1959 and 1989, and it is marked “GOLD IMARI / HAND PAINTED” in Gold on its Bottom. The Ginger Jar stands 12¼ inches high to the Top of its Lid and it measures 9¾ inches in diameter at its widest point. The Ginger Jar is also in Very Good to Excellent Condition for its age, without any chips, cracks, scratches or losses. Please refer to the photographs on the left for further details.
